Lustrous and Elegant: Hardware from H. Theophile
By Florence von Pelet
Erich Theophile introduced his family’s 130 year old hardware business to New York City with a special focus on bespoke projects. Erich has a background as an architect and preservationist and his abilities clearly manifest in his hardware design.
We loved this collection of knobs appropriately named New Traditionals. The knobs are styled after 18th century models with a modern edge. We absolutely love the attention to detail in each knob.
The Greek Revival collection takes aim at designs from the mid 19th century but would be just as appropriate for early 20th Deco styles with its strong angular lines and masculine style. The knobs are fashioned after the barrel knob, an American design from 1845. The blend between modernism, American design and classic Greek style seems effortless.
The collection titled Minimalism Perfected truly is the epitome of all things simple, sexy and sleek. The collection is custom engineered and executed to the highest finish standards.
