Water pressure lighting, fun in crystal and nickle

Water pressure lighting

Some of us have our best ideas in the bath tub. Others, such as Dwellings Ltd, get their inspiration for their Water Pressure Lighting range while renovating bathrooms. They couldn’t find anything which, as they say, “articulated both ‘bath’ and ‘out of the ordinary’. So designer Evelyn Hutter came up with ‘Lather Up’ , the lighting fixture shown above, as a portrayal of an invigorating body shower. Water in suspended animation inspired the other designs, some of which we show below. Water pressure lighting

New York Sewer Grate is inspired by a mouse eye view of, well you get the idea. We particularly like the inclusion of the aforementioned mouse.

The water pressure range uses Swarovski Crystals intended for jewelry and textiles. The droplets are nickel rings of various sizes, also intended for the fashion industry. The light sources are envirnomentally friendly LCDs .

Lawn Sprinkler uses around 5, 000 small crystals. It is intended to evoke the feeling of running through grass on a summer’s day. The grass is available in peridot or olivine. In the real world that’s a result of how you feed your lawn but that’s probably a blog for another place. I can get seriously boring on the subject of lawns.

This is Crashing Wave which is all about a cresting wave hitting the shore. There’s blue for the ocean, beige for the sand and even an amber starfish in there somewhere. Have we mentioned, by the way, that Modenus UK has just moved to live by the Sea Side? Not to much in the way of amber sand but everything else rings true.  This is definitely a favourite from the collection. Usually when we write blogs we pick a few items to represent a collection, predictably the items we really like. On this occasion I’ve found myself wanting to show you everything. Here’s the last;

This is Irrigation, complete with corn in either yellow and green crystals or just deep yellow. And there is also a vibrant blue dragon fly buzzing around. Most of all it is serious fun, and that’s what we love about the Waterpressure range. Dwellings Ltd have shed their inhibitions and produced a range which doesn’t compromise the imagination of the designer, right down to the tiniest detail. These are not lights for boring people.
