Glas Italia: modern glass table design
By Florence von Pelet
There is always good design circulating within our communities, but from time to time something comes along that is absolutely showstopping. Glas Italia delivers with beautiful glass creations envisioned and created by various designers. Glass never looked this good.
The Quake glass table designed by Garth Roberts is a sculptural piece that is strong yet playful. The irregular shape contributes to its organic style as 15 mm sheets of glass appear to float in random looking connections.
Another striking piece from Glas Italia is The Dark Side of Moon glass table collection designed by Piero LIssoni. The design is available as coffee table and in console height. The unique process of creation includes a laminated glass top with individual strips of different colors and widths. The design embraces the classic transparent glass style with a fun pop of color that would suit a super modern or more traditional interior.
We absolutely loved the Oscar glass table also designed by Piero LIssoni. Simplicity is everything with this piece. The sheer size of the glass table is a powerful element that catches the eye. The tempered glass top rests easy on legs that appear fragile but are actually rather strong. Minimalist and modern and again so neutral that it could work anywhere.
Finally, we enjoyed the unique design of the Alice coffee table designed by Jean-Marie Massaud. The honey comb like structure is made with smoked glass and offers a mysterious maze-like look for a modern and moody appeal.
