A work of art in motion – the Cunard Cabinet by Waters & Acland
By Florence von Pelet
We are sharing this with you simply because this is so beautiful – and such an amazing piece of furniture. By the remarkably talented Waters and Acland , based in the English Lake District, made for a client who was nostalgic for the glamorous days of old style cruising, their Cunard Cabinet is special for many reasons.
Yes, the marquetry Art Deco style illustration is lovely, and beautifully executed, it certainly warrants a closer look.
But it is what happens when you open the tambour door, made up of over 200 vertical strips that makes this one of the few occasions when a video about a piece of furniture is really justified.
We have no doubt that you will be hearing a great deal more about Waters and Acland, on Modenus and elsewhere.
