Agnes Jones, artist and blacksmith from The Crafts Council Hot House

We are featuring  our pick of The Crafts Council‘s Hot House group. The Crafts Council are the British organization which has been supporting crafts people for forty years. Under its Hot House scheme a select group will  be receiving six months of  intense creative and business support. In this post we feature Agnes Jones – artist and blacksmith.

Agnes Jones is an artist, blacksmith, and furniture maker working in London. She is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths. How come British crafts guilds have such wonderful names? We tweeted out her rather lovely weather vain, above, and got an instant response. Expect to see Agnes’ work in exalted company soon!

Along with her weather vain and one of her gates, we are showing you an example of her line drawings, on this occasion adorning a paper light shade.
