Lobster, caviar and octopus – seafood to liven any wall
Tapeten Agentur are a German company that sells wild wallpaper from around Europe. All of it is worthy of further attention but their own brand, Gohome, is astounding. They say they want to produce ‘high-quality specialty products to help you feel cosy at home’. We’re not sure about cosy, but this is certainly wall paper to show off to the neighbours.
These happy people have just decorated their room with Caviar L. The motif comes from the window of a small Soho deli. While the motif is repeated in the style of traditional paper each box is actually different. I am finding it difficult to focus right now. It’s approaching the cocktail hour and I haven’t been fed with Vodka and Caviar for a very long time.
This is the brightest, (no surprise there) of the several colourways the paper is available in. It is printed on fleece and is lightly embossed. Of course, if you don’t fancy Caviar, other seafood is available.
Octopus maybe? It’ll take three rolls to create the motif which, it has to be said works beautifully although I’m not sure I would want it in my bedroom. The cephalopod mollusc in question was, apparently, spotted by photographer CS Kisselbach and after its moment of fame was, er, eaten. Sorry.
And ‘eaten’ was, no doubt, the fate of the model for ‘Lobster’. Again available in a variety of colour combinations and as refreshingly different as the other Gohome designs. We think someone should call Jamie Oliver to endorse this line and we’re looking forward to seeing a lot more of them.
