The small life (I may turn this into a series) – a bright red day in the country
Cherry red is always a color that catches my attention and when I came across one of the many, extraordinarily stylish posts by Katrine Martensen-Larsen which was all about a simple life in combination with this most vibrant of colours, I had to snatch it up and draw our reader’s attention.
We all need time away from our increasingly demanding and hectic schedules that seem to have become far more cluttered since we were given the management and efficiency tools that were intended to make our lives simpler. And in these times, taking time off and the cost associated with a weekend getaway that doesn’t insult our sense of style have become a challenge all their own. Enter the camper.
Long a weekend and holiday staple of northern Europeans – I have memories of eternal traffic jams, on the annual exodus from Germany to Italy, the horizon lined with campers with either Danish or Dutch number plates – the camper is a symbol of freedom to roam without much fuss or money required.
This particularly lovable combination of the old Morris Traveler and Salon on wheels evokes the smell of wildflowers, the feeling of sun on your skin and there may even be a bee or two buzzing in the background. But before I loose myself in poetry I better share some more of these lovely images and leave the conjuring up to you.
Loving the quaint little interior for two and guess what? No IPhone dock anywhere, so let’s all adhere to what Steve Jobs said (or should have said) when the new “4″ didn’t work: “It’s just a phone, put it down and spend some time with your family”. We’re off…………..
