SCHOTT AG Announced as NKBA Global Connect Member

NKBA Global Connect
M2-Connect, Modenus Media’s consulting arm is excited to share the news of International specialty glass and glass-ceramic manufacturer SCHOTT AG as the latest subscriber to join the NKBA Global Connect Program.
What is the NKBA Global Connect program you ask? Great question. The NKBA Global Connect program was launched in 2018  with the goal  “to expand visibility of the NKBA and the Association’s premier trade show event — the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) — internationally with design professionals, brands, influencers and other industry constituents.  The initiative is designed to facilitate discussion on conducting business and participating in trade development events in North America and, conversely, in Europe and beyond for North American brands looking to extend their global footprint,” according to the NKBA.
The program offers a fantastic opportunity for international brands to enter the US Market strategically with access to a myriad of benefits through the NKBA. We are proud to work with the NKBA in supporting this program so kitchen and bath brands can conduct business efficiently and effectively in the United
States.

A little more about SCHOTT AG via the NKBA: Schott AG is a leading international technology group with expertise in the areas of specialty glass, glass-ceramics and related high-tech materials. SCHOTT AG has over 130 years of experience as an innovative partner in the many sectors including the areas of home appliance, electronics and life sciences. They have a global presence in 34 countries with over 16,200 empoloyees dirving over 2.2 billion Euro in fiscal 2018/2019. The brand is based in Mainz, Germany and solely owned the Carl Zeiss Foundation.

In the early 1960’s, SCHOTT AG had developed glass-ceramic as a mirror substrate for use in Space telescopes.  This material was incredibly heat resistant and showed almost no thermal expansion – ideal for preventing blurring during observation but also perfect for cooktops.  In 1971 SCHOTT AG introduced the first black glass-ceramic cooktop panels under the SCHOTT CERAN® brand.  The cooktop solution quickly became a bestseller, turning over 180 million units and making SCOTT AG a recognized consumer brand.

“We are very excited to be a part of the NKBA Global Connect program.  We are keen to learn as much as possible about how to further support the North American kitchen and bath market and are confident the resources, knowledge and connections the NKBA offers will position us for success,” said Kathrin Becker, Marketing Director SCHOTT CERAN®.  “We look forward to maximizing the insights and connections the program will bring us.”

The NKBA Global Connect Subscription program offers a robust package of resources and connections to help international brands enter the North American kitchen and bath marketplace.  Access to industry experts, proprietary NKBA market data, North American design and construction insights, VIP events and networking programs give NKBA Global Connect Subscribers a unique view into the market before they commit to launch.
