Product snapshot – a sublime chaise from Stone Forest

This very beautiful piece is the Adagio Chaise by Stone Forest. The Santa Fe based craftsmen are known for stunning stone or metal sinks and tubs that combine the elegant simplicity of Asian inspiration and contemporary design in materials one would never expect to appear so supple and refined. We will return to cover their work in more detail but wanted to share this with you just because we love it so much.

Chaise by Stone Forest

The Chaise by Stone Forest is carved from a single piece of stone.  Clever web-like inclusions run contrary to the  stone’s horizontal veining, giving the Chaise a feel and appearance that those who appreciate stone and marble will know to covet. Stone Forest tell us that when used indoors, it absorbs the ambient room temperature, and when used outdoors it will absorb only enough sun to warm you and cradle you in its sensuous, flowing form. Available in Silver Travertine and Travertino Romano, 26”W x 63”L x 22” H. It weighs around 700 lbs  so we may have to rethink our plans to have a couple on our first floor terrace. Seriously, we think it is a piece of great beauty which doesn’t need the deserted beach to look stunning.

The sinuous lines give the chaise incredible sensuality, energy, and vitality. Another designer to check out is Jason Phillips of of Jason Phillips Design.

Oh yes, very true. Jason has a wonderful collection, in fact we’ve done a great blog about him, alas I just can’t woo him into coming onto Modenus. :)
