Corning Glass Museum – a guest post by Raina Kattelson

New York stylist and designer Raina Kattelson reports back from her recent, and long overdue, visit to the Corning Glass Museum.

For years my dad told me how amazing the Corning Glass Museum was, but you know in that kid way I always thought “I like glass as much as the next girl, well maybe more, but how good could it be?”  Wowza, I was wrong- it is one of the most amazing museums I’ve been to and I am a huge museum going gal.  I spent 2 days there and left wanting more.  They have ton’s of absolutely incredible examples of glass going back in time- both utilitarian as well as art.  There is a terrific exhibit on scientific uses for glass and we got to not only watch glass being blown but got to make some of our own in one of the museum’s drop in classes.  I only wish I had more time to spend there so I could have taken one of the more intensive glass blowing courses. Please enjoy this short visual tour.
