J. Wesley Goldthorpe & Anne L. Edwards of Goldthorpe & Edwards, Ltd created this extraordinary room after their  client requested the use of Gracie hand-painted panels in a formal English high-style dining room.

They acquired beautiful hand-cast plaster moldings from Felber Ornamental Plaster which they gold leafed (in 24K) and over glazed by hand.  Drawings on paper carefully detailed the repeat of the molding motifs and the layout of the French panels that framed the Chinoiserie hand painted paper.  They commissioned Papyrus for a custom fabricated gold leaf tea paper, to get just the right color of gold, for the ceiling and used lattice wallpaper from F. Schumacher/Greff for the outside of the French panels.

With a rich mix of periods, an 18th century Chippendale side board vies for attention with the custom Italian hand-made Colombostile Biedermeier style vitrines.  The antique Waterford chandelier casts its glow over an Empire style table from E.J. Victor.  A lovely Savonnerie carpet from Marc Phillips is underfoot.

Other things you may wish to know are that the period, reproduction gilded mirrors and sconces are by Carvers Guild, the Settee is by Decorative Crafts and that the silk fabrics and trims are by Christopher Norman and Scalamandre. A remarkable project indeed. A larger picture follows.

The ability to invision and then create such a transformation is beyond my comprehension.
    The room is exquisite!

Or as I meant to say, “envision”!
