The designhounds took on in NYC during ICFF and had the opportunity to discover innovative design and connect with our sponsors Wilsonart and TOTO USA. The day included a warm welcome from LUXE Interiors + Design followed by private booth tours hosted by TOTO and Wilsonart. The designhounds continued to scope out the latest in design during Wanted Design in NYC and finished the day at Bouley Botanical in Tribeca with tour sponsor TOTO. Details below:
The designhounds kickstarted the day at ICFF with some bubbly compliments of Luxe Interiors + Design where they were welcomed by the ICFF team and Luxe President Alan Blaustein.
ICFF this year was huge with exhibitors over two floors including Luxe’s own pavilion, Design Milk’s pavilion and amazing design from large brands and small artisans from all over the world. If you haven’t been back to ICFF make sure to add it to your agenda for 2017. The designhounds convened at the TOTO USA booth to meet with senior manager of public relations at TOTO USA for a tour of all things new at TOTO.
Needless to say, the designhounds were all ears when hearing about LED sinks and toilets that only required cleaning once a year with their Tornado Flush technology.
The group continued the design fun with Wilsonart where students from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit showcased their chair design entries for the Wilsonart Challenges. This is the 12th year Wilsonart has offered students the opportunity to create unique chair designs with Wilsonart laminate materials with a specific theme. Students had fun with this year’s “Design for Delight” theme.
Congratulations to the winner, Stephen Marchio with his Prelude chair. The chair is unique with it’s varying angles and meant to show “fine craftsmanship” while amusingly “badly made”.
After an afternoon exploring Wanted Design, designhounds reconvened with TOTO USA at Bouley Botanical where Chef David Bouley himself prepared a world class meal utilizing his fresh grown ingredients and science.
The team at TOTO including President of Operations Bill Strang welcomed the designhounds and educated everyone on the story behind TOTO, a combination of good science and business to help create a better environment through their innovative products.
Many thanks to our sponsors Wilsonart and TOTO USA for an incredible day of design and beautiful evening.
