It’s a wrap! BlogTour Cali has come to an end, and what a wonderful tour it was. Between WestEdge Design Fair at the Barker Hangar, traveling up the Pacific Coast Highway to Cambria and San Fransisco, and finding our zen at Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara there was never a dull moment. If you happened to miss #BlogTourCali events as they were happening on social media, this is your chance to reminisce with us as we take a look back at our tour of the West coast.
BlogTour Cali orientation was held at the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica. It doesn’t get much better than sitting in their rooftop penthouse lounge overlooking the Los Angeles skyline, a glass of bubbly in hand. Well, that is unless you have two glasses of bubbly.
Words are not needed, Leanne Wood Newman showed us how it’s done
The Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica was the perfect setting for the bloggers to meet up and match familiar social media icons with a corresponding face.

In classic BlogTour fashion, champagne glasses were clinked and selfies were instagrammed, and it was time to pile into the BlogTour bus and strike a pose with the wonderful people at DXV, American Standard’s new luxury brand. The event was held at the Petit Ermitage hotel on its cozy rooftop garden with a 360 degree view of the Hollywood Hills. Not bad, eh?
Drink in hand, cell phone in the other, the group was hard at work; I use the term “work” lightly. Just look at the setting: romantic lighting, rustic furnishings, delicate flower arrangements –a designer’s outdoor paradise.

After mingling amongst cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, the conversation relocated to a comfy candlelit corner furnished with vintage couches where bloggers and our friends from DXV shared anecdotes. When Debbie Drury (Director of Brand Communications at American Standard) posed the question, “Which time period are your American Standard toilets from?” the answers varied from “1932″ to “last week.” Good to know that we were in the company of a classic, in fact, American Standard is now in its 15th Decade, hence the name of it’s blog Decade XV go on, check it out, we’ll wait.

If you followed the mayhem on Twitter and Instagram, you could not have missed our masked and mustachioed #DXVStrikeAPose. Doing what bloggers do best (aside from blogging, of course), clad in top hats, bow ties, and tiaras, they spent the better part of the evening posing and selfie-ing. The blogger with the most Instagram likes won a DXV faucet of their choosing and since we’re very democratic, we allowed two winners – Jonathan Legate and Christian May.
