BlogTour London sponsor Amtico: Taking Vinyl beyond the Diner

Something that seems common with interior décor is the inverse relationship between the luxuriousness of the product and its durability.  Amtico, our newest BlogTour sponsor, just may be the exception to that rule. Amtico is the pioneer of what they call “resilient flooring,” having created the category in 1964. The flagship product of Amtico’s resilient flooring is their luxury vinyl tile – bespoke flooring tiles made of durable vinyl. What this means for consumers is that you can have beautiful, bespoke flooring without wincing every time a chair is pulled out or a muddy dog goes streaking across your lovely floor. Yes, vinyl’s first connotation may be the sticky red booths at your local retro diner but vinyl’s really evolved since the 50s. Amtico’s vinyl flooring is the ultimate chameleon, assuming the convincing appearance of tile, stone, and even wood to give residential and commercial spaces the perfect, bespoke finish that’s resistant to everyday wear & tear.

Interested? We thought so. Well Amtico is also launching a new “Signature Collection” in January 2013, and are previewing the collection at 100% Design this year. Excellent news for anyone attending London Design Festival or who plan on following along with BlogTour London. We’ll have the opportunity for a sneak peek over 70 new products and designs. That seems well worth the trip across the pond!

Even though these patterns seem a little simple, I feel like they have a modern look with the right color and texture. I’m a huge fan of the dark walnut woven look.
