Rose Dostal’s client loves to entertain but didn’t like her kitchen. All in all it was just too restrictive. The kitchen was very open to the family room and although it was open to another room, guests never seemed to find their way there. Rose, proprietor of RMD Designs of Ohio could immediately see that some opening up was long overdue. The client, however, is a lady of traditional tastes and wanted a clearly delineated formal dinning room. Rose’s solution was to use columns to mark the transition. The resulting space now works well for informal l gatherings with guests happily wandering in and out of the kitchen and for when she is entertaining, her guests seated at the dinning room table.
And if you are wondering about the Cabinets (a closer picture follows) Rose has an Amish cabinet maker who is, by and large, kept busy with Rose’s own projects. The client declared the result ‘the most beautiful kitchen’ she had ever seen. That’s what happens when a client gets the outcome they really want. Our thanks to Rose for sending in her before & after. Why not do the same?
