Steaming it up in 2012 with ThermaSol Bluetooth Technology
You already know we’re major bath lingerers and with so many great designs for tubs, showers and other bathroom fixtures, why wouldn’t we be? The bathroom has certainly become the second hub of the home, right after the kitchen; a private space where we can find reprieve from the buzz and stress of our daily lives. New technologies and design features bring us closer and closer to an authentic spa feeling at home, and help us relax or invigorate as needed. We’ve already seen chroma and hydro therapy and for 2012 we’re seeing the personal spa experience take on another level.
We’re talking about digital and wireless technologies here that allow users to customize their bath experience according to their personal preferences – from water temperature to music playlists, it’s your private time so make the most of it. Bluetooth is a popular option that people are using throughout the house and in their cars to stay connected so why not in the bath as well?
ThermaSol’s Serenity Light & Music System is one product that brings Bluetooth technology into the bath space – or specifically – the steam shower space. After all, how many times have you wished you could unwind to Handel’s Water Music or rev it up with Lady Gaga? Never? Well it’s about time you considered it.
Now that 2012 is here, I decided to ask Jari Ristola, President of ThermaSol, to give us a few insights on why the wireless bath is, uh-hum, gaining steam. (Sorry, couldn’t resist).
Q: Why do you think the wireless bath movement is one of the most anticipated trends of 2012?
A: Because it is a proven technology. People really respond to Bluetooth-enabled products because they are already using the technology in their cars or at home. The technology isn’t a turn off to people – especially for those who may not be ‘techies’ and often need to have their children show them how to use their new gadgets. I’m thinking of myself here! It’s easy to grasp and it literally takes seconds to set up. While the technology itself is important, I would say that ease of use is even more important.
Q: What sort of an impact do you think it will have on the modern bath, moving forward?
A: I think it gives people the opportunity to customize their bath or steam shower experience. It gives them more control. Now instead of using a docking station or a hard wire receiver, people can simply enter their bathroom with any Bluetooth-enabled device – a smart phone or a laptop – and start streaming their personal music playlists instantly, from anywhere in the bathroom. With the use of a waterproof case, you can even bring your device directly into the steam shower. If you want to change your playlist, it’s as easy as a touch of a button.
Q: Why do you think it was important to add Bluetooth technology into your Serenity Light & Music Systems?
A: ThermaSol is always looking for new ways to enhance the luxury steam shower experience with technology. It was a natural progression for our Serenity Light & Music System, which brings the therapeutic benefits of chromatherapy and music therapy – ancient practices that are still used in upscale spas today – into the home steam shower. Affluent homeowners today want to recreate the steam shower experience at their favorite day spa in the privacy of their own homes, and they can do that now, thanks to this kind of technology. At the end of the day, it always come back to the experience. In our view, the more personalized it is to your preferences, the better.
