Crown Jewel by Tucker Robbins

Crown Jewel

Tucker Robbins

Considered a sacred wood, Acacia symbolizes the “Immortality of the Soul.” Acacia is incredibly hard, which makes it ideal for long-lasting items such as furniture. Unlike many other hardwoods, it is relatively fast growing giving the wood its beautiful grain and sustainability of the species. Carving away and faceting into Acacia’s solid heartwood, by hand, creates this Crown Jewel stool/sidetable that serves as a reminder of the Sacred Gem in each of us and all things.

Spider's Nests

Tucker Robbins

Hand carved in West Africa, using centuries old techniques, this stool is produced by the royal family of the Bamun tribe in Cameroon. Carved from the trunks of coffee shade trees which are brought down by the carvers at the request of the farmers when they become over grown and hinders crop production, this stool brings artisans and agriculture together to enrich one another. The pattern speaks of their creation story where it was the female spider who wove he Web which caught creation.

Snaka Waka

Tucker Robbins

Hand carved in West Africa by the Bamun carvers of Cameroon using centuries old techniques, the Snaka Wakas are made from the branches of the same coffee shade trees used to make the African carved stools. By using every part of the tree, this dancing table tells the story of the balancing act of sustainability.

Thor

In Norse mythology, Thor is portrayed as a huge, strongly built, red-bearded fellow with a huge appetite. The god of Thunder & Sky could be fearsome with his hot temper, but many myths portray him in an affectionate way with general good-nature. His favored weapon, Mjölnir, was a hammer that had power to "level mountains" and create vortices & forcefields. When placed down, it is said that it cannot be lifted or moved except by a 'worthy' individual. Inspired by this myth, the Thor Table is produced by skilled artisans in our LIC Studio with a solid base of steel and a warm Satinwood (aka Ironwood) top. The rigid design provides a surface for powerful interaction & activity.
