"My work is the testimony to this silent battle within each of us. My interests revolve around curiosity and stereotypes of human behavior. My figures seem to escape the laws of reason, of physics and biology, are our alter egos, usually friendly monsters, but monsters in the end. I’ve tried to demystify the reality of the world around me in reaching a greater understanding of the human condition. The surreal depictions in my works are attempts to allow each person to question our own reality." Carlos Gamez De Francisco

Tran Huy Hoan is both a painter and photographer. The artist lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The themes in Tran Huy Hoan’s work are contradictions within themselves. His work is both innocent and erotic. Each subject is attractive yet affecting. Hoan’s precise technical style is at once influenced by both classical and modern. His smooth brush stroke is combined with the soft monotone color palette he uses, bringing an unexpected warmth to an enigmatic subject matter. The female he paints are seductive and contain an air of melancholy.

Deborah Bigeleisen began her professional painting career creating portraits of illuminated white roses inspired by the Dutch masters. Searching for a fresh approach, she began looking at this subject from a magnified inward perspective using fractals, which resulted in a transformation of her vision. By peeling away the layers and magnifying the image to depths beyond those visible to the naked eye, she uncovered a rich structure, almost an abstraction, while also gaining an insight into the universal properties of all natural phenomena.

Boun’s art expresses his journey for enlightenment that reveals itself through openness, harmony and a subtlety of vibrations. Boun’s abstract work is a feast for the senses; its colors draw the viewer inward, both to the artwork and to the self. Boun uses ground precious gemstones as the pigment to display riotous colors of emotions that become a visual poem. Boun’s artwork initially appears simple, but like many masterpieces, this simplicity hides a complexity which reveals itself more deeply with each viewing

Vu Thu Hien has a solid ground in her understanding of classical Western Art, which, when combined with Vietnamese artistic aesthetics encompasses a rich texture and culture of east and west, past and present, spiritual and mundane. She paints on Dzo paper, a bark paper from the mulberry tree, which makes it durable and long lasting as she utilizes watercolors for infinite delicacy and shading of palette. The simplest aspect of Hein’s style evokes the essence of Vietnamese spiritual life. Many of her paintings have the ability to communicate to the soul, the spirit, and to the afterlife.

Steel sculptures by Zammy Migdal composed of elements each with 10 layers of automobile paint. No two elements are the same with each sculpture appearing different depending on light and reflection. "My work can be characterized by continuity and discontinuity: the continuity is reflected in the repeating qualities of the forms while the discontinuity reflects the variability shaped by my momentary experience. Slowly the ingredients, metal and movement, pins and paint, imagination, lights and shadows, come together to create a splash of color that is bigger than the sum of its parts."

"When people first view my work, I'm often told they feel a "certain aliveness inherent in the work itself. My goal as an artist is to inject life into whatever I can make. Each piece is hand cast from molten glass in a spectacular process of heat and light." They celebrate the unique properties of glass, of transparency, and shine and reflection. They are fine-grained, rugged or smooth, transparent or translucent, colored or clear. In the end, the completed piece transcends the sensibility of mere time." Marlene Rose
