in uzbek, the term used for ikat is abrbandi; literally `to tie a cloud'. according to legend, the first ikat artisan drew inspiration to weave a shimmering, patterned cloth from seeing clouds reflected in a pool of water.

each silk + cotton (adras) swath is hand-dyed and hand-loomed in the fergana valley of uzbekistan using a centuries-old technique, which encompasses upwards of 37 separate stages.

we work directly with a master ikat artisan - we can also do custom work with the ikat, and pillows can be made to size/to order.More
