What do we want from a BlogTour hotel? Here’s a wish list. We want: somewhere in the middle of the City, somewhere with big comfortable beds, free reliable wi-fi – of course, meeting rooms, free access to iMacs, food available 24 hours a day – sandwiches, salads, sushi- that sort of thing, did we mention big comfortable beds? And VOIP rate calls back home might be nice. And, by the way, BlogTour is all about style and design, so its going to have to look good.
So we are very pleased to announce that BlogTour London 2012 will be staying at the brand new CitizenM hotel in Bankside, close to the world famous Borough Market, across the road from the Tate Modern and a mere soliloquy from Shakespeare’s Globe.
We’re not sure how many of the local sites we will get time to see between the showrooms, shows, surprises, suppers and other exciting things that alliterate with the letter S. But we are absolutely delighted with our hotel choice.
So meet CitizenM, Bankside, London. Opened on Modenus’ CEO Veronika’s birthday this year, it does, indeed tick all the boxes on our check list. And there is more. You can lie on your comfy bed changing the rooms lighting and opening and closing the blinds on your wall to wall windows using the tablet. You can watch movies free of charge (dream on bloggers – just ain’t going to be time), everyone but Modenus Tim can dry their locks on the provided hair dryers, so that’s one less thing to pack, and the hotel even has a global plug system. Now at this point I have to ask a question. Why don’t all hotels provide international plugs without asking, or even charge?
But rant averted, because CitizenM do it right. They have obviously asked the same questions and have created a hotel for international travelers who need the sorts of things international travelers need. You will, we have no doubt, be hearing more about CitizenM from our team as they set up camp in its beautifully designed environs and just before they nod off in those luxurious beds.
