If you didn’t read yesterday’s post on texture trends, along with a rather remarkable rant on the concept of trends themselves, you can skip right to, what we consider, relaxed glamour or, if you can’t be swayed, hop over to the texture post but don’t forget to come back.
Now about relaxed glamour. It’s about skinny jeans and gold stilettos, the antique mirror behind the flea market sofa, chic with a touch of shab, diva look made from industrial steel. Make sense?
Gabriel Scott’s Kelly chandelier (above) is granted far more chic than shab with its solid brass construction, yes that includes the 1/2 kilometre brass chain, but still, we can see it juxtaposed by a worn leather sofa or, how delicious, two of them suspended over an oaken kitchen island.
Compass chandelier by Apparatus is, by comparison, positively un-glam which is why we think it can fit perfectly into a glamorous setting. Show here in situ via Interiordesign.net we’re all about the brassy coloring and still love a good exposed bulb.
We were happy to see the team from Bespoke Global showing some of their amazing collections. Totally custom, globally sourced, treasures like Jallu Ebenistes Gypse cabinet. Do you see where we’re going with this? This piece would be perfectly at home on a polished marble floor or dressed down on vintage plank flooring.
