We, admittedly, spend a fair amount of time oohing and aaahing over beautiful kitchen designs, sleek appliances, cool new counter tops and some us even know how to swing a ladle and whip up some pretty tantalizing tidbits. In other words we consider ourselves to be kitchen experts and try not to miss a design show that features some of the season’s hottest (literally) new appliances.
I say try not to miss. We will in fact, and sadly, be missing Dwell on Design this year but that won’t stop us from flexing our substantial social media muscle and follow some of our very best friends this year as they hold not one, but two, cook offs.
The first event, a designer cook off, will be held coming Friday from 2-3 pm PST at Capital Cooking’s booth # 1230 with two teams facing each other in heated battle as they sauté, fry, blanch, sear, boil, broil and grill their way to victory. All of this will be live broadcast, wireless Gods willing, via #kbtribechat on Twitter, so be sure to tune in for the chat or follow the contestants:
|Team East:||Team West:|
|Rebecca @CKD_Rebecca||Brandon @dcoopsd|
|Lori @lorigilder||Stacy @cabinetmakers|
And because anyone can hold ONE cook off, Capital Cooking opted for a second event on Saturday, also from 2-3pm PST and this time turning it over to the pros with celebrity chef, cookbook author and radio personality Chef Jamie Gwen and Capital’s Chef Doug Fletcher who promise to entertain and offer cooking tips and techniques to the audience whilst, much like during cooking challenges on television, battling to develop a main course and a dessert that includes one secret ingredient announced to them at the beginning of the challenge.
So, for all of you who are heading out to Dwell this weekend, please stop by either day, root for your favorite chefs, check out Capitals seriously amazing Culinarian range and be sure to send us your best – ok, no wait – funniest pictures of the cook offs.
