A lot of us had a lot of fun at The Architectural Digest Home Design Show with Hästens and the great folks from Hästens SoHo, makers of some of the world’s very best beds and one of the companies who took part in our Modenus Design Find Photo competition. You will, no doubt, soon see lots of pictures of various good people, hoping to win a week in London during London Design Festival, snuggled up on the Hästens beds on our Facebook competition page but we wanted to step back for a moment and tell you something rather important about Hästens beds.
Here is a little advice for anyone who has ever thought along the lines of ‘a bed is a bed, is a bed’. Go and lie down on a Hästens bed and realise the folly of your ways. Hästens are proud of their focus on quality and not cost. Their beds are handcrafted and all their filing materials are natural. The Swedish firm has been making beds since 1852 and yes, of course, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden is one of the people that benefits from their wonderful product.
The bed shown above is the Vividus. Each bed is made to order according to the customer’s specifications and takes between 140 and 160 hours to make entirely by hand. There is so much to say about Hästens but only one way to really appreciate them. Go and lie down on a Hästens bed. It could be a life altering moment. Sleep well.
