One moment there was an interesting but quiet BLANCO booth at the ICFF. Attentive colleagues were demonstrating multi-purpose sinks, sinks that hide away and faucets which save water. The next moment a crowd descended. It had the feel of a flash mob but was, in fact, this year’s BLANCO / Modenus tweet up.
Something magical happens when people who know each other from Twitter meet face to face. Twitter handles turn to names, opinions, advice and chatter become full blown conversations and yes, there is a distinct increase in volume.
As you can see from the pictures, this year’s event was wonderful. The Champagne and cup-cakes provided by BLANCO certainly helped. As did their support for Water for People. They are a great charity working for safe access to fresh water for everyone. For many people that’s still a life or death issue. Which, when you consider our advanced technologies is something we ought to achieve. During the Tweet up BLANCO donated a dollar for every Tweet which included the @waterforpeople handle.
Such is the generosity of BLANCO that we have no hesitation in bringing a couple of their products to your attention again. Not least because they are the sort of innovative products we know will interest you.
The brand new Cerana sink from BLANCO is notable for many reasons, not least its cunning design which gives you a choice of a rounded or straight front edge, making it suitable for contemporary and more traditional settings. Then there is its Fireclay construction which won’t fade, stain or chip. It solves the sort of problem that manufacturers only know about if, like BLANCO, they take the time to really listen to what the design community are saying.
And we were equally impressed by their ‘Crystalline Sink‘ Its a compact sink that does a disappearing act. Handy for New York’s tiny kitchens, for islands or as a prep sink.
So, once again, our thanks to BLANCO, to the Tweeters, and to the suppliers of champagne and cup cakes. We’ll see you all next year!
