Smart & Beautiful Design at Thermador and Wood-Mode
By Florence von Pelet
BlogTour to KBIS in Las Vegas this past January was an explosion (in a good way) of design innovation and the clear winners were smart technology, customization and color! Sponsors Thermador and Wood-Mode took it to the next level in creating a truly unique, customized and smarter kitchen with technology and materials that blew our socks off.
Thermador kicked off a fabulous day during Design and Construction Week with a tour of their booth inviting bloggers to experience the latest in kitchen appliance and refrigeration technology, a prominent trend at this year’s KBIS. So what sets Thermador apart? Stunning kitchen appliances with vibrant color options and smart technology, because yes, you can be pretty AND smart!
One of the Thermador products that stopped us in our tracks was undeniably the Thermador Freedom Induction Cooktop. Aside from the trendy dark gray color, the cook top offers a natural-mapping user interface that recognizes cookware size, position and shape to deliver heat. Essentially, the heat follows each pan on the cooktop while maintaining the original temperature. We love cooking at Modenus and this innovation allows for you to be flexible in the kitchen, adding additional pans or ingredients is not only do-able but easy. Love this cooktop that is essential in a smart and stylish kitchen.
Let’s face it, Modenus and BlogTour are big fans of steam and all of it’s healing properties so what better than to make the kitchen steam friendly? There simply is no better way to create healthy meals than with steam, The Thermador Masterpiece Oven Series features steam oven cooking capabilities as well as True Convection, making it easy for you to enjoy a swift, healthy steamed meal, a more traditionally oven cooked meal, or both! The oven is also equipped with “40 Easy Cook® automated food programs and 9 advanced cooking modes,” making it once again super smart.
Finally, remember how we mentioned color above? This utterly stunning blue ombre refrigeration wall by Thermador was likely one of the most photographed designs at the show, you can see why right?
Where Thermador assists in creating a smarter and healthier kitchen our friends at WoodMode pulled all the stops in creating custom luxury cabinet solutions that made the BlogTour team go to its knees (Images to follow). The Pennsylvania based company has recently introduced six new colors and 11 new door style options. What really perked our interest were new sanding techniques, fabulous drawer organization and of course new colors!
We were loving the new color options and sanding technique pictured in the much coveted hutch above left and of course the level of organization that is available in every cabinet.
One of our favorite features at Wood-Mode are its sophisticated and luxurious interior appointments that truly enhance the beauty of each cabinet and add new levels of functionality and space conservation. Above you see every inch of space used beautifully and wisely leaving only the cutout for plumbing as needed. We’ve come to the conclusion through our BlogTour experience that Wood-Mode is the ultimate in creating a customized kitchen with quality materials, exceptional organizational space and of course, a great look.
What makes a brand great is quality design, what makes a brand amazing is any involvement with non-profit or outside organizations. Wood-Mode has a history of connecting with various organizations in an effort to help, plain and simple. We were delighted to learn Wood-Mode connected with Music Education Non-Profit Little Kids Rock for KBIS 2016. Wood-Mode created the #SymphonyofStyle social media campaign to both create awareness for music education specifically for Little Kids Rock and also to celebrate the quality, craftsmanship, artistry and individualized style involved in the art of music. These qualities perfectly coincided with the design and ideas behind the Wood-Mode brand. Proceeds from the #SymphonyofStyle social media campaign went directly to Little Kids Rock. Now that’s a brand to be involved with!
