Tobias Grau – Light fixtures in fluid form

Tobias and Franziska Grau have long been known as icons in lighting design with fixtures that will appeal to modernists and mid century design lovers alike. The husband and wife team has been designing and creating light fixtures for over twenty years, boast a staff of 130 and claim, what is arguably one of the most striking corporate office designs, as their own.

Located in Hamburg Germany, Tobias Grau headquarters were designed in collaboration with architecture firm Bothe Richter Teherani and perfectly reflect the company’s vision and brand philosophy.

We love the Falling Leaf pendant for it’s combination of clean design with enough interesting elements, like the contrasting base and hand blown glass to add visual appeal. Launched at Frankfurt’s Orgatec show in 2012 it certainly is set to conquer US lighting markets by storm.

Beautiful organic movement in the base of the Falling Star table lamp creates a wonderful dynamic and tension. Exactly the reason why Tobias Grau lighting is as much a functional device as a design element that commands attention.

tobias grau falling in love lighting Falling In Love was launched about a year prior to the Falling Star table lamp but is clearly a predecessor and in no way less appealing. We love this fixture as an ambient light source as well as to illuminate a visual focal point in a space.
