We are looking forward to seeing what Beau McClellan Design have to show at this year’s Design Junction – one of the shows we are visiting as part of BlogTour London. Beau McClellan himself is actually an artist and designer, working from his studio in Portugal. He is responsible for both, show-stopping light installations as special commissions and a distinctive branded collection.
Beau McClellan produce a modular range – so it is possible to have something spectacular created for you in the time it can take to get some lighting designers to make a first appointment. The examples above, because we are sure you want to know, are: (Top two) Eclipse which consists of two oval mirror-coated glass shades around a central light source. And then there is Reveal which is made up of tubular glass with a reflective mirror finish, which accentuates the quality of light at night, but is also a feature during the day, reflecting its its surroundings.
If neither you, or your client are lucky enough to have an atrium or staircase which is crying out for something substantial and spectacular you can still have that Beau McClellan inspiration in a smaller package. Clockwise from top left, these are Bomac – made from solid blocks of high-quality aluminum with adjustable light heads that can point in any direction,Spin Table Light, part of the Spin range, with a reflective mirror shade which spins, hence the name, 360 degrees around the light source; Icicle which is also made from solid blocks of aluminum with light traveling through the base of hand ground crystal rods and, finally, Cocoon which is made up of two concave polycarbonate shades around a central light source.
BlogTour London and the various shows during London Design Festival are full of fascinating, beautiful products. We don’t know exactly what Beau McClellan will be taking to Design Junction but we are sure it will be spectacular.
