Andy Murray at Tent London 2012 – Pride & Joy
We like Andy Murray, and not just because we are the first people he has sent pictures of his new range. He designs interesting furniture and accessories and is always willing to talk about what he does. He is returning to Tent again this year and will be showing a brand new range he has designed for Pride & Joy Furniture Ltd, a company launched by Ian Lewis with the aim of producing stylish and accessible top-quality furniture made in Britain. We will, of course, be visiting as part of BlogTour.
And here he is, on the floor with his furniture, no doubt hiding from people making unfunny jokes about his gold medal winning countryman and namesake. But that’s not a great angle to see the furniture from.
That’s better. We particularly like his metal screen and clocks, of which there is an entire range.
And we think this uncompromisingly modern and simple desk light could be a winner for Andy and Pride & Joy. Nice to see one of Andy’s many design awards sitting casually on the window sill and only slightly disappointing that he seems to be working on his own web site rather than browsing for inspiration on Modenus. That’s something we will take up with him at Tent in September when, as ever, it will be great to see him.
