Keeping it simple – Liam Treanor
We came across Liam Treanor at the New Designers show in London and were impressed by the simple elegance of his work.
Liam also shows a great understanding of the constraints of the industry and of batch manufacturing techniques as he strives to create quality furniture at a competitive price.
Focusing on the needs of the user rather than innovation for innovation’s sake he has produced a line which is distinctly Scandinavian in influence with shades of Modernism.
This is Liam’s Savoye Chair. Strong and comfortable, it has a light, graceful look thanks to its thin and elegant frame, on top of which the seat seams to float. The chairs are made from English ash and birch ply. Like the rest of his furniture they reveal a sensitivity and understanding which suggest great experience. Depressingly, for the rest of us, Liam is 23 years old.
