Nico Yektai’s newest bench design, made from oxidized Sapele wood and concrete, assumes, as he calls it, a gestural stance. We see a fencer in a deep lunge – can you see it? As with all of Nico’s work we love the carefully balanced composition and the contrast between polished wood and concrete.
Moving away from smaller objects and furniture, Nico will also feature a larger piece entitled “Doors to my past” – a tribute to his travels in Europe as a child and interesting doors he saw along the way. This piece was first shown at the Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton.
