Dressing tables – vintage vanity or cleverly chic?

They’re glamorous of course, feminine and always a bit decadent, but we think a far more appropriate solution in a bedroom than a tv armoire or heaven forbid that dreaded treadmill. If you think about it, almost every Master Bedroom has a small space that would benefit from a dressing table vignette to soften a corner or break the line created by large pieces like beds and night stands. The Barcelona mirrored dressing table above (via Graham&Greene) is almost weightless.
We liked the Easel look of Ding3000′s “Pearl Make-up” from Skitsch (via Designspotter). Clean and fresh, it ignores all Victorian dressing table implications.
Very classic lines, lots of storage and the mirror folds away so it can double as a console, the “Joan” in Tulip wood and oak at Nina Campbell.
And for a bit of fun in the bedroom, here’s Johnny Egg’s vanity (via Heal’s). We love the “jump-out-and-bite-you-pink” accent and it even has a secret compartment. Oh the romance!
And who says a dressing table has to be for the girls. This is “About Eve” by Henri Becq at Modénature, but frankly we think it’s much closer to an “about Adam” and it should be. Nothing wrong with boys who primp and look good, especially when it adds a handsome piece to the household.
