Before and after – how to submit.

These notes are intended as a guide for people who want to see their work in our’ Before and After category’. Don’t hesitate to ask questions at beforeandafter@modenus.com. And that’s also the address to send your submissions.

1. Subject

We want to see anything where you, or your firm, have brought about a transformation – kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, gardens and whole houses are all welcome.

2. Pictures

We do need pictures of both before and after the project.  Ideally they should be of the same, or a similar view. The pictures we use at the top of each entry are 325X325 pixels but we can resize bigger pictures and crop other shapes that you are able to send us.  After that we can put in more pictures of the completed project, maybe even a few more ‘before’ pictures but we do need those first two before and after images.

3. Words

Please tell us about the project. We need to know what the client’s aims were and what you did. Please include details about materials you have used and suppliers of materials and furniture. We will edit your words to put them into our house style and, of course, to add our own thoughts.

4. Promotion

We will let you know when your ‘Before and After’ has been published. We will tell our community about it via Twitter and Facebook and would love for you to do the same.

5. Products used

We know our readers would love to know which products you’ve used to create the look and we’re pretty sure the manufacturer would be grateful as well. In fact, once the blog is published we recommend you send it to the manufacturer and let them know about a job well done. After all manufacturers also need a pat on the back.

6. Register on Modenus

We’d love it if you’d register on Modenus as we can then link back to your public profile in our designer directory as well and you get more exposure that way.

Tim Bogan

A journalist in the days before spell-checkers and digital anything his work was published in numerous publications the more respectable of which includes Time Out and the London based Observer. Tim was in at the ground floor with Modenus and BlogTour and continues to contribute whenever he can be dragged away from his search for the perfect recipe for pistachio gelato.
