Natural wood flooring is a wonderful luxury product and once installed, we can fully understand that you’d not want anyone to walk on it, touch it or even look at it for too long. That pristine surface should remain perfect and it’s easy to see how one can easily turn into a sock nazi and force everyone to tread as lightly as possible. That’s everyone unless of course they’re Mafi of Austria, who’ve developed a reputation for scraping, carving, embossing and even coloring the cracks and knots of natural wood flooring. Above is “Carving Kids”, one of a number of carved wood surfaces in the companies extensive (and expensive) flooring lineup.
“Carving Nana” has to be my favorite, a design I could actually see used as a wall application as well. Hey digital wallpaper people, can someone step up to the plate and recreate this?
Next up, “Carving Paisley” an ever appealing design made completely new as wood flooring.
“Carving Club” Fabulous patterns, manufactured with the most detailed attention to design and craftsmanship, so it comes as no surprise that some private clients are Kelly Hoppen, Luciano Pavarotti, Terrence Conran and Giorgio Armani. The list goes on but you get the idea and I really need to add this to my “If money were no object” blog from earlier today.
And finally”Carving Empire” the ever classic damask print re-interpreted on wood. Mafi keep the product simple and then let the design do all the talking.
