Tent London: Melody Rose bone china designs
By Florence von Pelet
We have always loved the unique tableware design from Melody Rose and most notably the skull design on their beautifully crafted chinaware. Melody Rose have recently introduced a collection of fine bone china tableware designed by Melanie Roseveare and manufactured in Stoke-on-Trent, “The ‘Potteries’ home of bone china in England” noted by Melody Rose. The collection encourages a mix and match style that is in itself beautiful. As a good friend always says: “Life’s short, use the good china!”
We look forward to seeing Melody Rose during BlogTour London next month.
The Kissing Couple bone plate set from the Modern Surrealist collection has a romantic and playful style that is almost dreamlike. Having an afternoon scone on this design is sure to bring a little smile to your face. The Birdcage bone plate from the Urban Nature Collection is quirky and full of whimsy. Both designs are gilded by hand, decorated and kiln fired at Melody Rose London studios.
True to British style, Melody Rose has a way of combining the delicate qualities of china with a spry sense of humor that is very apparent in the “Models” teacup and saucer from the Modern Surrealist Collection. The Dragonflies bone china sugar bowl also gets playful with a burst of color from the dragonfly and its gold stripe.
We could not blog about Melody Rose without including their classic skull signature design. This Skull in Crown design from the London inspired collection is an excellent combination of edge, humor and refined charm. Absolutely love!
