2013 was a whirlwind year for us with no less than five BlogTours to some of the most amazing destinations. From a cold but design filled start to the year with BlogTour Cologne/Amsterdam, a tour of New York that surprised even New Yorkers, an emotionally charged tour of New Orleans that led to a fundraiser for hurricane Katrina victims and our first ever double header, BlogTours to London and LA, the inspiration was limitless and the personal friendships that were forged were priceless.
So now, we’re told to rest after all this traveling but frankly, we can’t. Our next BlogTour is only four months away and in terms of BlogTour planning that’s practically next week.
If you would like to join one of our tours and become part of our growing community here are a frequently given answers:
- Yes, you do have to be a blogger to be on BlogTour. We are looking for bloggers that have blogged for at least six months with a minimum of one original post per week.
- No, you don’t need a massive social media following or huge traffic numbers. We have both and are happy to help share the posts you’ll be writing. We do however love people with engaging personalities and a unique blogging style.
- Yes, you can ask to join a tour for the second time. We always want to make sure we bring the right type of blogger to the right destinations so if that means you get to go more than once (yes we’re talking to you Marilyn Russell) then cool, right?
- Finally, yes, we do ask for you to cover the tour sponsors through your blog and social media channels. We only work with brands we would feel comfortable curating on Modenus and are more than happy to work with you on finding angles that fit your blog and would interest your readers. We know, we’re nice that way
And now, without further ado, we ask you:
WHICH BLOGTOUR WOULD YOU LOVE TO ATTEND AND WHY?
Please leave a comment below or send us an email at email@example.com and include the destinations you would love us to consider for you, your blog and social URLs and why you think you should go.
We’re headed to Las Vegas to celebrate the inaugural Design & Construction Week which is headlined by our trade show partner KBIS – The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show. BlogTour will run from February 3 for 3-4 nights and will focus on the show and fabulous parties as well as seeing the launch of a new event by Modenus.
This three night tour will be BlogTour’s third trip to the The Architectural Digest Home Design Show in New York City and the tour will involve a day at the show and two days around town as we meet talented local designers and explore the city in yet a new way. We can’t wait to share more details about this inspirational AND informational tour that will provide bloggers not only with new material but with new tools to benefit their daily work.
For the first time, BlogTour will visit not only Milan for the 2014 Salone Internazional del Mobile in April but present a series highlights outside of the city as well. Milan is one of two lifestyle tours in 2014 and will expand its tour coverage from design only to a broader, richer lifestyle concept with visits to wineries, cooking classes and the Italian countryside in addition to fabulous design at the Milan fair and the many events within the city itself.
While our NYC tour in April is about AD Home Show and looking at the big Apple from a new perspective, our May tour to NY Design Week is all about design events at ICFF, Wanted Design and the many other venues that now make up the newly launched New York Design Week. If you love edgy, modern design, this one’s for you.
Our last, thus far confirmed, destination is Paris! We will be there in early September for Maison & Objet but much like in Milan we plan to take this second lifestyle tour a bit further and include visits to the countryside with its wineries and chateaux. Design is not just about pretty textiles, colors and furniture, it’s also about the way we live our lives and if anyone knows how to do that, it’s the French. So join us for a class in savoir vivre.
We might be adding other opportunities as they present themselves for 2014 but for now let us know if you think you have what it takes to join the buzz.
