Kitchen Cookies and Cream from Sonya Kinkade

Sonya Kinkade‘s client asked her to do a`facelift’ on this kitchen but that wasn’t what she meant. At her very first meeting Sonya realized that what she really meant was ‘gut it and start again’. Which is largely what she did.

She designed the entire kitchen from top to bottom in the style the client was looking looking for, Sonya calls it  ‘kitchen cookies and cream’ which is a new one on me, but then lots of things are. She used shaker cabinetry, as she says “not too modern or traditional just a nice fit in-between”.

Never one to take half measures, Sonya also suggested knocking down the wall to their dining room and making a large eat in kitchen. The wall was removed and Sonya was able to extend the cabinetry,  turn the island in the opposite direction and extend it.  Happy clients, of course!  More ‘after’ pictures follow.

The kitchen is the key part of the house. This ought to be paid more attention to cleanliness & design. Personally, I like my kitchen to look fresh & smell nice.
